The solid aluminum body is inherently metal detectable. There is no compound and no additive, aluminum is metal, and metal detection systems find it. The cap is also metal detectable, so both components are trackable if either goes missing in a production area or on a loading dock.
The aluminum body's durability is different from plastic: it dents and deforms under impact rather than shattering into small fragments. That matters on a loading dock where markers take real abuse.
